In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH PICTURES 1500-1850, which included the work Settling The Account by Edward Villiers Rippingille. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,288.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Settling The Account is the most expensive artwork by Edward Villiers Rippingille that we have observed at auctions so far.
