In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of a lady, bust-length, in oriental dress by Edward Villiers Rippingille. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 628.12) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Villiers Rippingille have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Settling The Account in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,288.85).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust-length, in oriental dress von Edward Villiers Rippingille zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 628,12) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Villiers Rippingille auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Settling The Account im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.288,85).
