In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work The Kiss by Edward Stott. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,273.24), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Stott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a young girl in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 66,920.00 (€ 96,167.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Kiss von Edward Stott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.273,24) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Stott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.920,00 (€ 96.167,68).
