The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,845.81), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Stott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young girl in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 66,920.00 (€ 96,167.68).

Die Arbeit A Spring Idyll von Edward Stott wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.845,81) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Stott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.920,00 (€ 96.167,68).
