Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work The river Avon, Broom by Edward Steel Harper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 864.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Edward Steel Harper have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Dockers by a paddle steamer was auctioned for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,425.78).

Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The river Avon, Broom von Edward Steel Harper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 864,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Edward Steel Harper konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai letzten Jahres die Arbeit Dockers by a paddle steamer für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.425,78) versteigert.
