Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Irises in a Chinese vase (illustrated); and Olivia lilies in a turquoise vase by Edward Julius Detmold for GBP 478.00 (€ 676.50). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Julius Detmold achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,409.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Irises in a Chinese vase (illustrated); and Olivia lilies in a turquoise vase von Edward Julius Detmold für GBP 478,00 (€ 676,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Julius Detmold erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.409,15).
