Despite a disappointment, a good price for Edward John Gregory
When the work Rediviva: Great-Grandmother'S Wedding Dress by Edward John Gregory was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,341.71). Despite this disappointing result, Rediviva: Great-Grandmother'S Wedding Dress is the most expensive artwork by Edward John Gregory that we have observed at auction so far.
