This artwork by Edward John Gregory achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. In the Old Master and 19th Century European Art auction, the work Reclining Nude sold for USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,579.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Edward John Gregory have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rediviva: Great-Grandmother'S Wedding Dress in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,341.71).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward John Gregory erzielte im Januar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Reclining Nude für USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.579,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward John Gregory auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rediviva: Great-Grandmother'S Wedding Dress im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.341,71).
