Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Swing by Edward Henry Corbould. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,840.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Henry Corbould - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cold, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,446.62).
