Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Salome dancing before Herod by Edward Henry Corbould was sold in the BRITISH ART ON PAPER auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,010.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Henry Corbould - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cold, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,446.62).
