Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work In the Highlands by Edward Hargitt was sold in the THE HOUSE SALE auction at Christies in New York in August 2005. It achieved a price of USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,919.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Hargitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The River Tay at Newburgh, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 7,285.00 (€ 11,592.73).
