In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER, which included the work Sheep And Cattle In A Summer Landscape by Edward Charles Williams. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,572.91), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Charles Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.572,91) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams erzielen.
