Auction result well in line with expectations
The work War in the Sun by Edward Burra was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,830,000.00 (€ 2,132,425.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Edward Burra have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2011 the work Zoot Suits was auctioned for GBP 2,057,250.00 (€ 2,275,964.73).

Die Arbeit War in the Sun von Edward Burra kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.800.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.830.000,00 (€ 2.132.425,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
