Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Café Bar by Edward Burra for GBP 55,000.00 (€ 64,074.39). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zoot Suits in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,057,250.00 (€ 2,275,964.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Café Bar von Edward Burra für GBP 55.000,00 (€ 64.074,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Burra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zoot Suits im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.057.250,00 (€ 2.275.964,73).
