Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Minuit Chanson by Edward Burra was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,608,000.00 (€ 1,868,038.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Edward Burra have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2011 the work Zoot Suits was auctioned for GBP 2,057,250.00 (€ 2,275,964.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Minuit Chanson von Edward Burra kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.608.000,00 (€ 1.868.038,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Edward Burra konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2011 die Arbeit Zoot Suits für GBP 2.057.250,00 (€ 2.275.964,73) versteigert.
