Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Party by Edward Burra was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zoot Suits in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,057,250.00 (€ 2,275,964.73).

Die Arbeit The Party von Edward Burra kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.731,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Burra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zoot Suits im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.057.250,00 (€ 2.275.964,73).
