This artwork by Edward Arthur Walton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2001. In the The Scottish Sale including pictures from the auction, the work The Willows sold for GBP 30,550.00 (€ 48,614.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Arthur Walton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alice, which sold at auction in August 2008 for GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,913.46).

In der Auktion The Scottish Sale including pictures from the wurde die Arbeit The Willows für GBP 30.550,00 (€ 48.614,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Arthur Walton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alice beobachtet, die im August 2008 für GBP 115.250,00 (€ 142.913,46) versteigert wurde.
