Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pastoral Scene, Ceres, Fife by Edward Arthur Walton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,586.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Arthur Walton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,913.46).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.586,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
