Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pastoral landscape with cattle by Edward Arthur Walton was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May 2021. The price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,192.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Arthur Walton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,913.46).

Die Arbeit Pastoral landscape with cattle von Edward Arthur Walton wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.192,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Arthur Walton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 115.250,00 (€ 142.913,46).
