Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951, which included the work Shelter Scene by Edward Ardizzone. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 891.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Ardizzone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Saloon Bar at The Shirland in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,445.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shelter Scene von Edward Ardizzone zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 891,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Ardizzone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Saloon Bar at The Shirland im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.445,04).
