Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection, which included the work Sky by Eduard Gorokhovsky. The price achieved of GBP 11,970.00 (€ 14,277.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eduard Gorokhovsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group Portrait In An Interior, which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,066.33).
