Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work View of Tenby from the North-East by Edmund Gill. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,218.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Falls on the Clyde in February 2003 with an auction result of USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,303.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Tenby from the North-East von Edmund Gill zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.218,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Gill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Falls on the Clyde im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.303,65).
