Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work A Springtime Hunt by Edgar Samuel Paxson. The price achieved of USD 26,290.00 (€ 22,646.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Samuel Paxson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The War Party in May last year with an auction result of USD 283,500.00 (€ 264,187.87).

Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Springtime Hunt von Edgar Samuel Paxson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 26.290,00 (€ 22.646,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Samuel Paxson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The War Party im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 283.500,00 (€ 264.187,87).
