"I’ve become enchanted with the drawing trick of having the characters standing on the horizon line. What I like about it is you could draw a giant shoe in the immediate foreground and a super tiny person in the background and as long as they’re standing on that horizon line, the perspective is accurate."

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Slick Rick". Original Art For Pin-Up In Volume 2 Of "The Hip Hop Family Tree", 2015 by Ed Piskor was sold in the Hip Hop auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,580.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ed Piskor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Original Slipcase Art For Volumes 3 & 4 Of "The Hip Hop Family Tree", 2015 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,752.69).
