"I think this first panel portrait of Rammellzee might be my favorite drawing in HHFT (I wonder how many other times I might have said that in this book). His contentious relationship with Jean-Michel Basquiat was fun to explore. They’d make for an amazing buddy movie."

The work "Ramellzee & Basquiat". Original Artwork From Page 75, Volume 2 Of "The Hip Hop Family Tree", 2015 by Ed Piskor was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2020. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,150.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ed Piskor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Original Slipcase Art For Volumes 3 & 4 Of "The Hip Hop Family Tree", 2015 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,752.69).
