Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eastman Johnson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work The James A. Burden Family changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,590.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eastman Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Little Soldier in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 856,000.00 (€ 693,173.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eastman Johnson konnte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit The James A. Burden Family für USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.590,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eastman Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Little Soldier im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 856.000,00 (€ 693.173,54).
