Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work New Orleans (Seated Woman With Crossed Legs), C. 1911–1913 by E. J. Bellocq for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,035.28). This price was achieved in the auction The Yamakawa Collection of Twentieth Century Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by E. J. Bellocq achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit New Orleans (Seated Woman With Crossed Legs), C. 1911–1913 von E. J. Bellocq für USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.035,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Yamakawa Collection of Twentieth Century Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
