Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Yamakawa Collection of Twentieth Century Photographs, which included the work New Orleans (Nude On A Wicker Chaise), C. 1911–1913 by E. J. Bellocq. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,312.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by E. J. Bellocq achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Yamakawa Collection of Twentieth Century Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Orleans (Nude On A Wicker Chaise), C. 1911–1913 von E. J. Bellocq zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.312,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
