This artwork by Dumile Feni achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2013. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Untitled (Head) sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 50,573.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dumile Feni; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Head sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 60,062.00 (€ 69,667.61).
