Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection, which included the work The Spirit Leaves the Body, 1968 by Duane Michals. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,710.00 (€ 10,164.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Duane Michals - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portrait Of Andy Warhol', which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,356.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Spirit Leaves the Body, 1968 von Duane Michals zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 10.710,00 (€ 10.164,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Duane Michals mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portrait Of Andy Warhol' beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.356,39) versteigert wurde.
