Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Andy Warhol (triptych), 1973 by Duane Michals was sold in the Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,957.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Duane Michals - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portrait Of Andy Warhol', which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,356.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Andy Warhol (triptych), 1973 von Duane Michals wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.957,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
