In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction 19C INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE KANWARDIP GUJRAL COLLECTION, which included the work The Banks of the Yamuna by John Murray. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,035.40), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Murray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pavillion and Mosque Attached to the Taj in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
