The work Las Calderas Y El Iztaccíhuatl (Paisaje Con Maguey) by Dr. Atl was sold in the Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,129.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dr. Atl achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mañana Luminosa in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,268,639.51).
