Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian, which included the work Illumination (Head On) by Ahmed Mater. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,206.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmed Mater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Magnetism (Triptych) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 189,000.00 (€ 219,963.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Illumination (Head On) von Ahmed Mater zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.206,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Mater erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Magnetism (Triptych) im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 219.963,46).
