The work From the Real to the Symbolic City (Desert of Pharan series) by Ahmed Mater was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Christies in Paris in November this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,600.00 (€ 87,603.96), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmed Mater - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Magnetism (Triptych), which sold at auction in June this year for GBP 189,000.00 (€ 219,963.46).

Die Arbeit From the Real to the Symbolic City (Desert of Pharan series) von Ahmed Mater wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 87.603,96) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Mater mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Magnetism (Triptych) beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für GBP 189.000,00 (€ 219.963,46) versteigert wurde.
