In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Afrika by Dorothy Tennant. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 646.25 (€ 900.39), 29% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Tennant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bathers in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,406.84).

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afrika von Dorothy Tennant zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 900,39) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothy Tennant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bathers im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.406,84).
