This artwork by Dorothy Fratt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Untitled Red; Noche Obscura Two Works sold for USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,357.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dorothy Fratt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Day Moon sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 54,093.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothy Fratt erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Untitled Red; Noche Obscura Two Works für USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.357,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Dorothy Fratt; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Day Moon im September letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 54.093,84).
