Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reclining nude by Dorothy Brett was sold in the Twentieth Century British Art auction at Christies in London in July 2003. The price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 583.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Brett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Santo Domingo Corn Dance, 1959 in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 69,062.50 (€ 61,020.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reclining nude von Dorothy Brett wurde im Juli 2003 in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 583,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothy Brett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Santo Domingo Corn Dance, 1959 im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.062,50 (€ 61.020,06).
