Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work White House from the Garden by Doris Ulmann was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,008.00 (€ 824.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Doris Ulmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baptism in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,714.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit White House from the Garden von Doris Ulmann im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.008,00 (€ 824,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Doris Ulmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baptism im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.714,09).
