Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ink Bamboo by Dong Shouping was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. The price achieved of HKD 252,000.00 (€ 30,198.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Shouping achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Narcissus and Red Berries in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 2,680,000.00 (€ 309,951.59).
