Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work African Dream by Donald Grant was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,213.06). Admittedly, works by Donald Grant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Cheetah and her Cubs in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 28,800.00 (€ 24,320.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit African Dream von Donald Grant im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.213,06) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Donald Grant auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Cheetah and her Cubs im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.800,00 (€ 24.320,22).
