Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cheetah beside a cliff by Donald Grant was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 80,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 70,000.00 (€ 6,900.74). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Donald Grant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Cheetah and her Cubs, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 28,800.00 (€ 24,320.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cheetah beside a cliff von Donald Grant im Juni 2021 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 80.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 70.000,00 (€ 6.900,74) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Donald Grant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Cheetah and her Cubs beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für USD 28.800,00 (€ 24.320,22) versteigert wurde.
