In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The Blue Squadron of His Majesty's Fleet entering Havana harbour to take possession on 16th August 1762, led by H.M.S. Valiant commanded by the Honourable Augustus Keppel by Dominic Serres. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,279.61), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dominic Serres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 581,000.00 (€ 690,353.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Blue Squadron of His Majesty's Fleet entering Havana harbour to take possession on 16th August 1762, led by H.M.S. Valiant commanded by the Honourable Augustus Keppel von Dominic Serres zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 581.000,00 (€ 690.353,69).
