In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Vice-Admiral Parker's Action with the Dutch Fleet on the Dogger Bank, 1781, the opening manoeuvres, with warships in action to the right whilst the Dutch convoy runs for safety in the top left by Dominic Serres. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,280.41), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dominic Serres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 581,000.00 (€ 690,353.69).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.280,41) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dominic Serres erzielen.
