Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A convoy of East Indiamen off Jamestown, St. Helena, signalling its departure for China by Dominic Serres. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,207.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dominic Serres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 581,000.00 (€ 690,353.69).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 581.000,00 (€ 690.353,69).
