The work Men-o'war at anchor off Portsmouth at dusk by Dominic Serres was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in November 2010. The auction ended at the price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,169.99), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dominic Serres achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture Of Havana, Cuba: The Taking Of The Town By British Forces Under The Command Of The Earl Of Albemarle, 14 August 1762 in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 581,000.00 (€ 690,353.69).
