This artwork by Domenico Morelli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Rome in May 2002. In the ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO - 19TH CENTURY ART auction, the work Studio per i Profughi di Aquileia sold for EUR 2,976.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Morelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso), which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,639.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Domenico Morelli erzielte im Mai 2002 bei Christies in Rom einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO - 19TH CENTURY ART wurde die Arbeit Studio per i Profughi di Aquileia für EUR 2.976,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Domenico Morelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.639,25) versteigert wurde.
