Upper estimate price exceeded by 51 %.
The work Ville imaginaire by Domenico Gnoli was sold in the Collection Pierre Le-Tan, Session I auction at Sothebys in Paris in March 2021. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 75,600.00 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Gnoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Hair in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 7,026,500.00 (€ 8,524,835.22).
