Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Cypress Tree by Ding Fuzhi was worth HKD 226,800.00 (€ 26,926.03) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ding Fuzhi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Plum Blossoms, which sold at auction in September 2019 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 80,238.42).

Die Arbeit Cypress Tree von Ding Fuzhi war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres HKD 226.800,00 (€ 26.926,03) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Ding Fuzhi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Plum Blossoms beobachtet, die im September 2019 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 80.238,42) versteigert wurde.
