In April 2014 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Eight-Character Couplet in Seal Script by Ding Foyan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 63,250.00 (€ 5,882.66), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ding Foyan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,449.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im April 2014 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eight-Character Couplet in Seal Script von Ding Foyan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 63.250,00 (€ 5.882,66) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ding Foyan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.449,74).
